Tucson Cine Mexico

April 1 - 5, 2020

Tucson Cine Mexico, the first and longest-running Mexican film festival in the United States, and a signature program of the Hanson FilmTV Institute, will take place April 1-5, 2020. Highlights include Sin señas particulares/Identifying Features, a premiere screening ahead of its U.S. theatrical release; Los Lobos/The Wolves, fresh its prize-winning season at the Berlin Film Festival; and two films from Indigenous women directors – Tote/Abuelo/Grandfather from Tzotzil filmmaker María Sojob, and Tío Yim/Uncle Yim, from Zapotec filmmaker Luna Marán. Screenings will take place at the newly renovated Harkins Tucson Spectrum 18, with a talk at the Tucson Museum of Art. Films are in Spanish with English subtitles. Co-presented with New York-based Cinema Tropical, all events at Tucson Cine Mexico are free.
