History

The Hanson FilmTV Institute is part of the UA School of Theatre, Film & Television and funded through annual contributions from the Jack and Vivian Hanson Foundation, established in 2002 with a bequest from Vivian Hanson, a cherished friend and donor to the University of Arizona and an avid lover of film. The Institute’s pilot programs kicked off in October 2004 and the Arizona Board of Regents formally approved the non-profit Hanson FilmTV Institute in December 2005.
